Blog moved
I have started using a Blogger.com blog instead of the default blog instead of the default RapidWeaver blog I previously used. The RapidBlog plugin allowed me to migrate my existing blog entries. There is stuff that still doesn't work but I'm working on it.Also, I started using Flickr more and considered getting a pro account. I have moved my galleries on this page to point to Flickr using the

Update
Ramjet - underground band from Horsens, Denmark
I accidentally stumbled over Ramjet's website today and curious as I am listened to some of their music. I usually only buy records from bands promoted by the major labels - the ones being played in the radio and MTV until we either get sick of hearing them or buy their records (or both). But in this case I made an exception because their music is really happy, it made me smile and really

As a part of my Linux upgrade adventure I got Firefox 2.0B2 as a part of Ubuntu Edgy Eft. I usually use Firefox on Linux and Safari on Mac. If I had to use Mozilla on Mac, I tend to use Camino because it's supposed to be more Mac like, but as a colleague of mine said: "It's like they have taken Firefox and torn all the cool things out of it". A few cool plugins that someone showed to me, nudged

Because my Debian 'sarge' installation at work began giving me problems and still ran further and further behind on features (that's Debian, I know), I took the opportunity to follow my cleverest coworkers' advice and installed Ubuntu. Because the next stable version of Ubuntu reportedly is due in a fortnight, I went from an old, stable Debian release to a bleeding edge beta of Ubuntu, "Edgy Eft"
Aperture 1.5 - getting better
Apple must have heard my grudging with Apertures lack of iLife integration that I mentioned earlier - either that or the thousand of other outcries. Anyway, with Aperture 1.5 I can now share my Aperture library with iLife programs. Still no solution for RapidWeaver or ComicLife though. Aperture is quickly becoming my preferred program for one-stop photography needs, but at least now I can import
Downtime
In what can best be described as incredibly unfortunate events both personally and technically, the server and my Internet connection has experienced downtime of almost a week. Apologies to website visitors (not that anyone probably noticed). And now a message to my danish speaking e-mail users:Det er muligt at der er gået mails tabt, som var adresseret til jer. Det er umuligt at sige, da
Mac Mini as a media server
I finally got the cables to connect my Mac Mini to the TV and stereo. What I needed was a DVI to CVBS/S-VHS adapter and a mini jack optical audio cable. The audio cable worked flawlessly - the Mini automatically detected the cable, began to output digital sound and the prefs panel changed to reflect that - neat.I connected to the TV via S-VHS to get the best analog quality for my widescreen TV.
Flot!
Tunet HBX Bonzer in action
Fik lige nogle stumper til R/C bilen. Om det virker - well, døm selv. Filmen er taget på Alborgs Falcon BMX bane. Sammenlign filmen med en standard bil her. Husk Quicktime 7 på Windows/Mac og VNC/MPlayer/GStreamer på Linux.QT_WriteOBJECT_XHTML('http://www.migselv.com/page27/files/tunethbxbonerinction_1.mov', '640', '496', '', 'autoplay', 'false' );
AirTunes encryption - why, oh why?
In an attempt to replace my Airport Express with my Mac Mini, I was looking for a server program that would essentially "fake" to be an Airport Express. This would enable iTunes to recognize it as a "loudspeaker" and send audio to it. However my search was in vain - no such thing exist because the private key in the Airport Express has not been cracked. To explain briefly, Airtunes uses AES
Got an Intel Mac Mini
By pure luck I got a new Mac Mini, smallest base configuration, for $500 at an Apple shop opening sale. These are usually ~$825 here in Denmark due to Apple's ridiculous dollar exchange rates and the enormous danish sales tax of 25%. I plan to use this machine as a combined media center, UPnP media server and mail/web server. With a bit of luck (and work), I can retire my Via EPIA Linux server,

Saw another RSS add similar to the one I mentioned here. This time however, it was a GIF anim or something like that. This will surely start an arms race with RSS readers/ad sites like it was the case with popup blockers in browsers :-( Unfortunately I think Apple has too many commercial interests to implement this in Safari. Yet another reason to switch to Firefox/Camino, I guess...
Now what's this?

The prime reasons I started using RSS extensively was to get an overview of news and to get rid of advertisements. Now this afternoon I saw something new (to me, at least). Visiting my favourite pro-Linux news site, I saw that someone snug an advert into the RSS newsfeed. I don't know the technical details - this could just be a mistake on /.'s part, but I hope this is not something to stay:
Bonzer in action
Husk nyeste Quicktime for at afspille videoen.

Ok, without further ado, here's a few links I have been reading lately.Definition of DemocracyBeyond PlutocracyFood for thought - especially for americans but unfortunately also seems to be relevant for many other "democracies".Before anyone feels the need to flame, let me say that I have no illusions that Danish democracy is perfect.
Elektrisk mikro helikopter
More Aperture notes
I've found a few possible solutions to the iPhoto export that I mentioned earlier.http://www.lightboxsoftware.com/aperture/index.htmlhttp://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2357336http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1017&message=18085281&changemode=1Light Box Software's solution is close to what I want, except:1) It requires running a program when you want to access

Aperture 1.1 first impressions
My first evening with Aperture went with importing my iPhoto library. This took about four hours. Granted, it was 9GB, 4500 photos which had to be copied and thumbnailed, but still... However, importing means copying the files into an Aperture "library" just like iPhoto does. This means another 9GB spent on my HD unless I find some way of sharing the data between the two programs - anyone got
DxO
Just tried a demo of DxO optics Pro, which appears to be a very clever program to do image processing on your digital photos. This is done based on reference measurements of your camera/lens combination. This can compensate for lens and sensor imperfections such as noise, distortion, vignetting and other stuff that they really explain much better on their website. What I wanted to show was the
